Robin Hobb?s The Realm of the Elderlings

>> Thursday, May 03, 2012

The Realm of the Elderlings books are probably some of the best fantasy books I’ve read in years. They’re not high fantasy like The Lord of the Rings, and they’re not as sweeping as A Song of Ice and Fire. The RotE books read more like an historical drama with small touches of magic. But in these books, Robin Hobb gave us flawed and relatable heroes – hopelessly silly at times, utterly passionate about what they want, and thoroughly believable. http://ping.fm/c1aoC

Burning Out on Pinterest

>> Saturday, April 14, 2012

It was only by the end of March that I first heard of Pinterest. I only learned of it when I was asked to help create training modules on how to use it for online marketing. Since it certainly would be impossible for me to do the job without finding out what Pinterest is all about, I decided to find out for myself why Pinterest is such a big deal. http://ping.fm/21PFk

On Sleep Deprivation

>> Thursday, April 12, 2012

As I write this post, my head aches, my eyes are blurry, and my hands are a bit shaky. I’m not sick or anything. It’s just that I’ve only had four hours of sleep last night and the night before that, and I’ve had to resort to coffee to keep me awake. It’s kind of ironic that just a few days ago, I came across a video of Arianna Huffington talking about the importance of getting enough sleep at night. http://ping.fm/8sUvZ

Easter Sunday is for families, and I spent mine with my parents. We were supposed to watch a movie, but we couldn’t decide on what to watch. I wanted to see Hunger Games, but my mom preferred Mirror, Mirror. We ended up not going to the cinema and instead had a long lunch at Cyma Restaurant in Trinoma. http://ping.fm/SZ1uI
